Lee Rigby Killer Launches Appeal
Michael Adebolajo, 29, who was given a whole-life sentence for the murder of soldier Lee Rigby, has launches an appeal against his sentence.
The British-born Muslim convert drove into Fusilier Rigby with a car before hacking him to death in Woolwich, south-east London.
Adebolajo has denied the murder and described the killing as a “military operation” describing himself as a “soldier of Allah”.
The judge Mr Justice Sweeney said Adeborajo's was a “rare case” which warranted a whole-life term, and he was sentences to a minimum of 45 years behind the bars.
Three Women Hurt In a London Hammer Attack
Three women in their 30's have suffered serious head injuries, with one understood to be fighting for her life in a medically induced coma, after a vicious hammer attack on the seventh floor of the Cumberland Hotel near Oxford Street in central London at about 1.50am on Sunday.
The woman are understood to be tourists from the United Arab Emirates on family holidays in the capital.
One of the victims is in critical condition and a second is in a serious but stable.
Police have said that “theft would appear to have been the motive” and the hotel staff and guests are also being questioned.
Aldi, Lidl And Waitrose Supermarkets Increases Shares
Discount and premium supermarket chains have continued to increase their market shares over the year, according to research by Kantar Worldpanel.
Aldi recorded a record gain, rising more than a third in a year, while Lidl and Waitrose also showed strong growth. Asda was the most resilient and Morrisons lost the most market share.
Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and Morrisons experienced a decline in sales, although Tesco remains the dominating chain in the market with a 28.6% share, compared with 4.6% for Aldi.

After four-year record slides in shares around the world the London market was showing signs of a rally. Yesterday the London FTSE 100 shed 4% but on Friday afternoon the market had rallied sharply to pass 6100 mark and build on an early morning trading upturn.

Milly Dowler's Sister Scoops Cosmopolitan Award
Murdered teenager Milly Dowler's sister Gemma has been named Cosmopolitan's Women Of The Year. She was named Ultimate Family Girl at the magazine's awards ceremony in central London. Miss Dowler was often seen with her parents as they saw Milly's killer, Levi Bellfield, jailed for life for her murder in 2002.

Party killer sentenced to 14 years
A teenage girl who murdered another teenager at a birthday party has been detained for a minimum of 14 years. Beatriz Martins-Paes was found guilty of the murder of Charlotte Polius, 15, who was stabbed in the heart at a birthday party in Ilford, east London, on April 10 last year.

ITV plc, the company formed by the merger of Carlton and Granada, has launched its shares on the London Stock Exchange. All dealing in Carlton and Granada shares closed on Friday, while ITV plc shares opened at 141 pence, reaching 146.25p by 4pm.
