BT To Recruit Hundreds Of New Engineers
A total of 350 new engineering jobs are to be created in Scotland and Wales by BT, as part of a recruitment drive across the UK to support the rollout of fibre broadband.
The company has said that it looking for 160 new engineers in Scotland and 190 in Wales.
It is part of a plan to recruit up to 1,600 new engineers throughout the UK as part of its Openreach programme, which supplies broadband to rural communities.
It is keen to recruit in:
Wrexham
Bangor
Cardigan
Abergavenny
Carmarthen
Machynlleth
Llandrindod Wells
Presteigne
Newtown
Usk
Caernarfon
Llanberis
Llanwnda
Pwllheli
Rhyl
Bethesda
Fishguard
Haverfordwest
The business expects a significant number of the engineering roles to be taken up by ex-servicemen and women, and it is particularly keen to recruit more female engineers and has launched a campaign encouraging women to enter the world of engineering.

Almost 300 new jobs are to be created across south Wales by insurance firm Admiral. The company has announced it hopes to recruit 150 in Cardiff, 100 in Swansea and more than 30 in Newport, for positions in its contact centres, IT department and law firms.

Inquiry Into Pirbright Army Recruit Death
A 29-year-old man who was found hanged at an army camp in Surrey has been identified as Anthony Manuel Jose Hernandez. Mr Hernandez, from High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, was found at the Alexander Barracks at Pirbright Army camp on Sunday. He had died just before 8am, despite attempts by the ambulance service to resuscitate him.
