Five Arrested Over Cash And Drug Seizure In Merseyside

Five people have been arrested following the recovery of cash and drugs in Melling, Merseyside, on Tuesday.

Merseyside Police stopped and searched a vehicle at about 9:30am on 7 July, uncovering a "significant amount" of drugs.

Officers then searched two properties on Liddell Avenue, together with a further two vehicles, recovering a large quantity of what is believed to be Class A drugs and a significant quantity of cash.

A third property in Rainbow Drive, Melling, was also searched with further quantities of drugs and cash seized.

Detective Inspector Tony O’Brien said: "This is a significant recovery of cash and Class A drugs, that has now been taken off our streets and can no longer be used to line the pockets of criminals and cause misery in our communities.

"This is just one example of how we are tackling serious and organised crime, on a daily basis across the force area. We are relentless in our pursuit and will act on any information we receive in relation to criminality, and as we have today, take action."

Fourteen men have been arrested in a series of dawn raids in Bristol. The men, aged between 15 and 63, were arrested on suspicion of conspiring to supply drugs. Police said that the raids are part of an ongoing drugs investigation in Bristol.

Four Charged Over Everton Tower Block Cannabis Farm
Four men have been charged following the discovery of a cannabis farm in a tower block in Everton. Police on patrol on Wednesday 10 June noticed a strong a smell of cannabis in the area. Investigating the smell, the officers uncovered a large scale cannabis grow house in a number of flats.
