Five Injured In Two Car Collision

Five people are being treated in hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Flintshire.

It is understood that a Ford Ka and a Peugeot 208 were involved in a crash at about 07:45 this morning on the A5104 at Treuddyn, near Mold.

Police have said that one person was airlifted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent, with four others taken to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact North Wales Police on the non-emergency 101 line.

Police Investigate Attack On Swan In Cornish Village

Police in Cornwall are investigating an alleged attack on a swan.

Witnesses claim that a man, thought to be a German tourist, grabbed the swan, known locally as Nobby, by its neck and swung it around before slamming it into the harbour wall. The attack took place in the fishing village of Mevagissey.

It is understood that the swan was left bleeding and battered in the attack on Tuesday.

Rucksack Of Missing 65-Year-Old Found

Police searching for a missing 65-year-old man have found his rucksack.

Tom Brown was last seen leaving his home on 1 July and is believed to have checked into Glen Nevis Youth Hostel at 17:30 the following day.

His rucksack and contents were found less than a mile east of Steall Falls in the Glen Nevis area.

Mr Brown is 5ft 10in, of stocky build and has grey/brown hair.

Police said that the search operation is continuing.

Convicted Police Murderer Dale Cregan Moves To Secure Hospital
The man jailed for the murder of two police officers has been moved from Strangeways prison in Manchester to the maximum-security Ashworth Hospital. 30-year-old Dale Cregan was given a whole-life sentence for the murders of PC Fiona Bone and PC Nicola Hughes as well as father and son David and Mark Short.

Police Watchdog To Question G20 Officer
A police watchdog is to interview the officer thought to be shown on video pushing a man at the G20 summit protests, who later died. The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) confirmed the officer identified himself to investigators on Wednesday. A Metropolitan Police spokesman said no officers had been suspended.

Release Of Police Killer Described As 'Sickening'
The release of a man convicted of killing three unarmed police officers in 1966 has been described as "sickening". Harry Roberts, now aged 78, has been released from prison after serving 48 years for 1966 murders of three unarmed police officers in Shepherd's Bush in west London.

Major Police Hunt Launched After Boy Taken From Hospital
A major police hunt has begun after a five-year-old boy with a brain tumour, was taken by his family without consent from Southampton General Hospital. Police said that Ashya King was taken from the hospital by Brett King, 51, and Naghemeh King, 45, on Thursday. It is thought he may have been taken to France.

'Skull Cracker' In Custody In London
Kent Police, in partnership with officers from the Metropolitan Police Service, have arrested two men in East London on suspicion of conspiracy to commit armed robbery. On 3 May, Kent Police began a search for Michael Wheatley, 55, who had failed to return to HMP Standford Hill after being released on temporary licence.
