Man charged with terror offences in Manchester
A man has been charged with two terror offences in Manchester, police have confirmed.
Habib Ahmed, 26, from Cheetham Hill was arrested on August 23. He was charged with keeping information about potential terrorist targets and undergoing weapons training in Pakistan. Mr Ahmed was held for the full 28 days allowed under the Terrorism Act before he was charged.
He is due to appear before the City of Westminster Magistrates Court in London on Thursday.
A 26-year-old woman arrested on Tuesday under the Terrorism Act in Bury remains in custody.
Two men arrested on September 2 were released without charge last Friday.
It is understood that none of the arrests relate to last year's July 7 bombings in London, nor the recent alleged plot to blow up transatlantic airliners.

British terror suspect held in Zambia
A British terror suspect is being held in Zambia after being arrested last week, it has been reported. Thirty-year-old Haroon Rashid Aswat, who is from West Yorkshire, is being sought by US authorities over allegations that he tried to set up al-Qaeda training camps in the US in 1999.

23 Charged With Drug Offences Following Raids
More than 20 people have been charged with drug offences following a number of raids carried out in London, Gravesend, Dover and Deal. A total of 23 people were arrested during twenty raids carried out over three days. The suspects, ranging in age from 17 to 52, have all been charged in connection with the supply of class A drugs.

Police Granted Warrant To Hold Terror Suspects
Police have been granted more time to question two men suspected of terrorism offences relating to activities in Syria. Two 21-year-old men were arrested on Monday at Heathrow Airport after arriving on a flight from Istanbul. It is understood that the men are from Handsworth in Birmingham.

Portsmouth Man Charged Under The Terrorism Act
A man has been charged under the Terrorism Act and is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court later today. Mustakim Jaman, 23, from Portsmouth was charged under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006. He was arrested as part of many warrants executed across Hampshire and London by officers from the South East Counter Terrorism Unit (SECTU).
