Investigation launched into crane collapse
An investigation has been launched after a crane collapsed onto a block of flats in south-west London, killing two people.
Emergency services were called to the building site in Battersea Park around 6pm last night following reports that a crane had smashed into flats in the area.
Two men were killed - believed to be the crane operator and a member of the public - while a third man was treated in hospital for minor injuries.
Residents in the flats were evacuated. It is understood that none of them were injured.
According to reports, residents had expressed concerns about the crane, because it was feared that it was too close to the flats.
An investigation has been launched by the Health and Safety Executive.

One Dead As Crane Falls Onto M25
It has been reported that a man has died after a crane fell from a work site onto the M25 in Buckinghamshire. It is thought that the victim may have fallen from the crane, he was reported dead at the scene, according to the BBC.

Protesters On Crane In Parliament Square
Two protesters have scaled a crane in Parliament Square to protest against the proposed EU Treaty. The two male activists climbed onto the crane, which is in place for renovations in Middlesex Guildhall, shortly after 2am on Monday morning. They unfurled banners reading "Referendum Now" and "Give Us Our Vote".
