DJ Kershaw Returned To Jail

DJ Andy Kershaw is back in jail, after being released on Friday.

The 48-year-old former Radio 1 DJ had served 44 days in prison for harassing his former partner Juliette Banner, the mother of his two children.

Kershaw, who is originally from Rochdale, was arrested near his home in Peel on the Isle of Man on Monday afternoon, on suspicion of a further breach of a restraining order against him.

He had been released from Jurby prison on Friday, He had been serving a sentence for breaching the restraining order for a second time.

Birmingham City Council Investigate School Take Over Allegations
An investigation has been launched into an alleged takeover plot of Birmingham schools by hard-line Islamists. It is understood that the investigation is now looking at 25 schools in relation to the allegations, with Birmingham City Council saying that they have received more than 200 reports relating to the investigation.

A barrister, and former aide to Boris Johnson, has been acquitted of possessing extreme pornography in a landmark case over the boundaries of what can be described as "extreme". The jury was unanimous and took less than 90 minutes to clear Simon Walsh, 50, who also served as a magistrate and alderman in the City of London, after a week-long trial.

Former Labour Leader Foot Dies
Tributes have been paid to Labour stalwart Michael Foot, who died today. Mr Foot was 96 and led the Labour Party between 1980 and 1983. He stood down from the helm of the party following a disastrous defeat to Margaret Thatcher's Tories. His left-wing 1983 election manifesto was branded by some "the longest suicide note in history".
