Man Held Over 1983 Murder
A 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a teenager 26 years ago.
Colette Aram's naked body was found in a field close to her home in October 1983. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled.
The 16-year-old trainee hairdresser had been walking home from her boyfriend’s house in Keyworth, Nottinghamshire when she was abducted.
At about 8.10pm she turned into Nicker Hill and stopped to talk to a group of friends. This was the last known sighting of her.
An appeal for Colette's murder was the first case to be shown on Crimewatch on June 7 1984.
Last November police revealed they had made a significant breakthrough, with over 100 calls from members of the public, from Keyworth and surrounding villages.
Also, in October, on the 25th anniversary of the killing, officers revealed they had DNA evidence profile of the killer who abducted, sexually assaulted and then murdered the young victim, before leaving her body in a field near her home.
Police said they had eliminated 1,500 people from their inquiries including 800 who had been DNA-swabbed.

A TV executive who murdered his father and disposed of his body in a wheelie bin - where it lay for nearly two months - has been jailed for life. Benjamin Holding, 29, murdered 70-year-old Michael Holding by repeatedly bashing his head against the floor at their home near Banchory, Aberdeenshire on October 13, 2007.

Body Found During Search For Missing Woman
A body has been found during the search for a missing woman, whose boyfriend is being held on suspicion of her murder. 19-year-old Amelia Arnold disappeared from the home she shared with Jack Wall, 22, and their young daughter in Hadrian's Walk, Stevenage, Hertfordshire, on Wednesday.

Body Found In 'Facebook Fugitive' Search
Police hunting for a murder suspect dubbed the "Facebook fugitive" have found the body of a man hanging in a derelict building in Blackfriars. Detectives from Greater Manchester Police were searching for George Appleton, 40, who vanished shortly before the remains of Clare Wood, were found at her home on Friday.

Man Held In Cumbria Murder Probe
A man is being questioned on suspicion of murder after a woman's body was found in her home in Cumbria at the weekend. The body of 52-year-old Nicola Bisset was found by in her home in Rivington Park in Appleby on Saturday, after North Yorkshire Police received a tip-off. The cause of death is still unknown.

Murder Charge Over Christmas Body Find
Police investigating the death of a Lithuanian man whose body was found in a field in Leicestershire on Christmas Day last year have charged a man with murder. The body of Gediminas Kristukas, 23, was found by a dog walker in a field near Quenby Hall, Hungarton on Christmas morning last year.
