Man Jailed For Road rage Death

A 44-year-old man has been jailed for 27 months for manslaughter following a 'road rage' incident. Graham Cahill, 44, of Hawthorne Drive, Harrow, north London, confronted Toby Cooke, from Luton after a minor collision on the M1 in May 2008. The 25-year-old died from injuries caused by his head striking the ground, after Cahill punched him once, causing him to fall. The court heard Cahill "lost control" in the incident.

81-Year-Old Woman Attacked

An elderly woman has had her hip and shoulder fractured in a robbery outside her home in Perth. The 81-year-old victim was returning to her home in Primrose Crescent just before midday on Sunday when she was assaulted and her handbag and shopping were snatched. Two men, thought to be about 15 to 20 years old, were seen fleeing from the scene - one apparently on a skateboard.

Man Injured In Lorry Plunge

A lorry driver has been seriously injured after his vehicle went down a 40ft (12m) embankment in Gwynedd. Cutting equipment was used to free the man from the lorry cab and a specialist rope rescue team ensured he was lifted safely to an air ambulance. The incident happened at 9.18am on the A5 at Padog Bends near Betws y Coed. Part of the road was closed for the air ambulance to land. They took the 26-year-old lorry driver to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor.

Man Treated For Stab Wounds

A man has been treated for stab wounds in Wolverhampton. The wounded man has non life-threatening injuries and is being treated in hospital, a spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said. Police were called to Church Street in the city just after midnight and the road was expected to be closed while inquiries continue. Traffic diversions have been put in place. Anyone with information about was urged to contact police.

Man Killed By Lorry After Fall From Road Bridge
One lane of the M62 in Cheshire remains closed after a man died when he fell from a bridge and was hit by a lorry. The victim is said to be a 30-year-old man from Warrington, according to Cheshire Police. The incident happened at around 2.45am on Wednesday. Two lanes of the motorway were reopened at around 8.

Man Arrested In Toddler Death Probe
A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a three-year-old girl. The toddler was brought to hospital on Friday but died in the early hours of Saturday morning. A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "A 30-year-old man from Beck Road, Shiregreen, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and inquiries are continuing.

Man Arrested Over McKenna Killing
A 46-year-old man is being questioned by police in relation to an attack which left a man dead and his son seriously injured. Graham McKenna, 45, and his 14-year-old son Michael were stabbed on Upton Road in Claughton, Wirral, Merseyside.

23-Year-Old Man Charged With Murder Of Two-Week-Old Baby
A 23-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a two-week old baby in Stockport, Greater Manchester Police have reported. It is understood that the ambulance service called police to an address on Shaw Road South at about 20:15 on Wednesday, 29 July. An ambulance had been called to reports that a baby had stopped breathing.
