Girl, 13, Sexually Assaulted In Manchester
Police in Greater Manchester have appealed for information after a 13-year-old girl was pushed into bushes and sexually assaulted in Withington.
The attack happened at around 11pm on Saturday night.
It is believed the victim was walking home along Rippingham Road when a man near to the junction of Hill Street asked her what her name was.
The victim turned around and saw three men on the other side of the road. She carried on walking.
As she got to Old Moat Park, the victim was grabbed from behind and pushed into the bushes. She was then sexually assaulted.
The victim screamed and managed to run away. She did not manage to see where the offender went next.
He is described as being Asian, in his 20s, with a long nose with a bump, and with short black hair that was shaven at the sides. He was around 6ft tall with a heavy build.
He was wearing a tight-fitted long-sleeved top with dark coloured jeans. He was also wearing aftershave and spoke with a local accent.
The two other men who were nearby are described as being Asian, and were wearing hooded tops.
Detective Constable Beverley Shawcross said: "This was a terrifying experience for the victim.
"We are appealing for anyone who may have seen this group of men in the area to come forward. There is every chance that they had been out for the evening and had got off the bus from Fallowfield or the city centre.
"We believe that there were people in and around the park, who may have heard the victim scream.
"We are also appealing for the offender's two friends to come forward. You have done nothing wrong and you may not realise just how serious your friend's actions were, but he is a menace and needs to be caught."
