Lake Searched For Possessions Of Murdered Woman
Police investigating the murder of a 40-year-old woman whose body was found in the boot of her car eight months ago, are searching a lake in Hampshire for her missing possessions.
Paula Poolton, of Titchfield, Fareham, was discovered in her Peugeot 206 near Swanwick railway station on 28 October, 11 days after she went missing.
Specialist police divers from Avon and Somerset have been called in to help trawl the lake close to where the 40-year-old was stabbed to death.
They are hoping to find her missing mobile phone, car keys and a flip-flop which they say may help them track down her killer.
Ms Poolton's husband, Ricky, 53, was released without charge in March after he was arrested in October.
Det Ch Insp Darren O'Callaghan said: "The lake is one of several sites of interest that have been identified during the course of this investigation.
"We are still trying to locate some of Paula's property including her flip-flop, car keys and mobile phone, and we would still appeal to anyone who finds any of these items to contact us.
"Her flip-flop is black, her mobile phone is a red Samsung E-900 and the keys are to her Peugeot 206."
The 40-year-old’s murder was featured on BBC1's Crimewatch programme earlier this month, in an attempt to find rail passengers travelling through Swanwick station on 17 October - the day Paula was last seen alive.
Det Ch Insp O'Callaghan said as a result of the programme, police had received 25 calls from members of the public.
All were due to be interviewed, he added.
