Arrest At 'Abuse' Nursery
Police investigating alleged abuse at a Nottinghamshire nursery have detained one person in relation to an alleged sexual offence.
Authorities closed Rocking Horse Nursery in Plumtree last week following allegations children had sustained 'physical injuries'.
The person arrested over the latest claims has been questioned and released on police bail.
A Child Abuse Investigation Unit spokesman said police were now following up a line of inquiry relating to the alleged sexual abuse.
It is believed information of an alleged incident was passed to officers on Friday.
"Prior to this, neither Nottinghamshire police nor Ofsted were aware of any alleged sexual offences having taken place at the nursery," said a spokesman.
So far, two people have been arrested and bailed over physical injuries to toddlers, while three others were questioned under caution.
An investigation was launched into the nursery last month after a child was admitted to hospital with a broken leg.
The local council confirmed it was made aware that the incident took place in April.
Nursery directors have said they are cooperating fully with police.
