'Nothing Untoward' In L'Derry Alert

Nothing untoward has been found during a security alert in L'derry, police have confirmed.

On Monday evening, police and army bomb experts were called to the Creggan Road area of the city following reports of a suspicious object.

Diversions were put in place for motorists, taking them away from the scene, but a spokesperson for the PSNI later said: "ATO attended and declared it to be nothing untoward."

Also on Monday, army bomb experts were called to the Royal Mail sorting office in Tomb Street, Belfast, after a report of a suspicious package being found by staff.
