KFC franchisee fined £8,000 for undercooked 'Zinger'
A Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise owner has been fined £8,000 after a customer complained of being served undercooked food at one of its restaurants.
Belfast Magistrates Court heard yesterday how Herbel Restaurants' Donegall Road premises sold an undercooked ‘Chicken Zinger Burger’ to a customer.
It is not the first time the company has been found wanting with regard to cooked food. The court heard how the company has been convicted of similar offences, at various outlets, on five previous occasions since 1999.
The company was fined a total of £8,000, plus costs of £66, for an offence under The Food Safety (Northern Ireland) Order 1991.
