Viable Pipe Bomb Found In North Belfast Security Alert
A viable pipe bomb has been discovered during a security alert in north Belfast.
A number of residents were evacuated from their homes after a suspicious object was found in the Fortfield place area on Thursday.
Police and army bomb experts attended the scene.
The device has been removed for further examination.
Fortfield Place was closed between Lepper Street and Spamount Street.
It has now re-opened and residents have returned to their homes.
Sinn Féin councillor JJ Magee condemned the incident.
He said: "The discovery of a device in the New Lodge area this morning is worrying.
"Thankfully no one was hurt in this incident but it caused a great deal of inconvenience locally.
"This is the second alert in the area this week and the local community is fed up with it."

Man Dies After Bus Fall In Belfast
Detectives are investigating the death of an 80-year-old man who fell from a bus in Belfast. Police have said that they believe the man was travelling on a 2J Translink Metro bus service at around 11:15am on Friday, 08 November, when he suffered a fall as the bus travelled along Royal Avenue, near it's junction with North Street.

Security Alert Ends In West Belfast
A security alert in west Belfast has ended after nothing untoward was found. Army bomb experts were called to St Mary's Gardens in the Beechmount area around 9.30pm on Thursday night to examine a car. Some 100 homes were evacuated during the alert, with residents being moved to a nearby community centre.

Residents Evacuated In North Belfast Alert
Residents have been forced to evacuate their homes in north Belfast following a report of a suspicious object in the area. The homes in Clifton Crescent were evacuated after the report of an object in the area on Monday afternoon. An army bomb squad has been tasked to the scene and the area has been closed to traffic.

Viable Pipe Bomb Found In West Belfast
A viable pipe bomb has been discovered during a security alert in west Belfast. The device was found in the Andersonstown area on Saturday night, 15 July. A number of residents had to be evacuated from their homes, however they have since returned. The device was made safe and has been retaken for further examination.

County Down Security Alert Declared A Hoax
A security alert in Ballynahinch, County Down, has been declared a hoax. Police and Army bomb experts were called to the Riverview Heights area following reports of a suspicious object at around 8pm on Thursday 24 January. A number of homes were evacuated while the object was examined.
