Lineup Released For Belfast Christmas Light Switch-On
A night of free family entertainment is in store at the Belfast Christmas Lights switch-on event, council has revealed.
Children's TV favourites PJ Masks will appear on stage alongside voices of local radio at the event on Saturday 16 November.
Lord Mayor Councillor John Finucane encouraged members of the public to join in the fun and help launch this year's Christmas festivities, saying: "We have another great line up of family entertainment for the young and the young at heart.
"I'll be joined on stage by children's television favourites PJ Masks and I'm looking forward to all of the festive music and performances that we have lined up for you.
"We're encouraging everyone to make it Belfast this Christmas and the Lights Switch-on marks the official start to the many activities on offer this festive season!"
Cool FM drive time regular John Kearns will join Cool Goes Quiet's Melissa Riddell as they host the evening for the first time.
"We're excited and thrilled to be part of such an amazing line up of family fun and entertainment," John Kearns said.
The City Hall grounds will open at 6pm, with entertainment from 6.30 to 7.30pm, culminating in the switching on of the city's festive lighting and christmas tree. There will be road closures in effect in the city centre from earlier in the afternoon and those planning to attend are advised to allow extra time for their journey.
While tickets are free they have been limited to six per person and will be released online at 9am on Monday 04 November from the Visit Belfast website and must be downloaded or printed for the evening.

The First and deputy First Minister have called for an end to the loyalist protests against the decision to reduce the number of days the Union flag is to fly at Belfast City Hall. In their statement, Peter Robinson and Martin McGuinness said: "We recognise and support the right to peaceful protest but the way forward is through dialogue.
