Guard hit by car during Belfast robbery

Police in south Belfast have appealed for information after a security guard was hit by a car during a robbery in the early hours of this morning.

One of the security team was delivering a armoured box containing a substantial sum of cash to a bank on the Dublin Road area at around 5.30am, when he was struck from behind by a car.

A man jumped out of the car, which is believed to be a dark grey or green Vauxhall Calibra, grabbed the box containing the cash, then jumped back into the vehicle, which drove off in the direction of Ventrey Street.

The security guard sustained injuries to his back and legs, however they are not believed to be life threatening.

Police have asked for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have any information in connection with it, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Pedestrian Injured In Belfast Hit-and-Run
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a hit-and-run incident in the Botanic Avenue area of Belfast in the early hours of Thursday morning. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 1.30am after a male pedestrian was struck by a maroon Mazda. Despite being injured, the pedestrian left the area before police arrived.

Attempted Carjacking In West Belfast
Police are investigating an attempted carjacking in west Belfast on Tuesday, November 19th. At around 5:30pm, a man entered a parked car at Hillhead Court and attempted to steal it. A woman passenger was assaulted when she resisted the man's demands. The suspect, described as a man in his 20s wearing all black, fled the scene on foot.
