Attempted robbery of County Down pensioner
Police have warned people to be vigilant after bogus callers attempted to rob a pensioner in County Down.
The incident happened at around 2.30pm yesterday, when a boy called to the 86-year-old woman's home at Vianstown in Downpatrick, claiming that he had kicked his football into her back garden.
As the woman spoke with the child, she noticed that two men had entered her home through a rear door.
The woman chased the men away with her walking stick, and they ran off empty handed.
One of the men is described as being over 6 feet tall, and was wearing a beige or cream coloured jacket.
The second man is said to be around 5' 8" and was wearing a navy jacket or top, and light blue gloves.
Anyone who may have witnessed the attack, or who may have any information in relation to it, are asked to contact police in Downpatrick on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Police are investigating an attempted carjacking in west Belfast on Tuesday, November 19th. At around 5:30pm, a man entered a parked car at Hillhead Court and attempted to steal it. A woman passenger was assaulted when she resisted the man's demands. The suspect, described as a man in his 20s wearing all black, fled the scene on foot.

Cold Callers Target Elderly Residents In Ballymoney
Elderly and vulnerable residents in the Ballymoney area are being targeted by cold callers requesting that they hand over any new £5 notes. A man and woman claiming to be from the government are asking residents to return all notes to them as they are no longer of legal tender.

Bogus callers rob pensioner in north Belfast
Police are appealing for information after bogus callers robbed the home of an elderly women while she was still in her house in north Belfast on Monday. Police investigating reports of a burglary at a flat on Shore Crescent were making house to house enquiries when they called at the home of a woman in her late eighties.

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.

Police are appealing for information after an attempted robbery at the home of two elderly women in east Belfast. The incident happened at around 8.30pm last night when two intruders entered a house in Westcott Street occupied by a 70-year-old woman and her 99-year-old mother.
