Teacher refused bail for fifth time
A teacher who was accused of making and distributing child porn has been refused bail.
Colin Mark Trory, 32, from Thornhill Parade, Belfast, was arrested when work colleagues complained after finding indecent photographs of children.
Police seized a computer at Castle High School, where the man was employed, before searching his home.
A Crown lawyer told the High Court, the images found on mobile phones, computer equipment and cameras were “extremely distressing.”
“I am informed by police that there are literally hundreds of pictures, some of girls as young as five,” the lawyer commented.
He also said Mr Trory told police he took the photographs because he “appreciated the sense of beauty in young children.”
The court hears the pictures were taken in Trory’s bedroom, as well as in a shopping centre.
A defence lawyer said the accused has been in custody for eight months and “he has been suspended from his employment and has resigned from youth work commitments in his church.”
This was Mr Trory's fifth attempt at bail.

Limavady solicitor released on High Court bail
A Limavady solicitor has been granted bail in the High Court today. Manmohan Sandhu, 41, of Colby Avenue in Londonderry was remanded in custody yesterday charged with attempting to incite a murder. He was also charged with four counts of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Man cleared of musician's murder
One of the three men charged of murdering Londonderry blues musician Jim Gilchrist, has had the charge dropped by the High Court. 27-year-old Alan Luukas, a student from Rathlin Drive, Creggan in Derry, was one of three men accused of murdering the 63-year-old as he made his way home from a night out at a local motorcycle club on September 28 2005.
