Car Crashes Into Elderly Couples' Home
A car has smashed into the home of an elderly couple, causing enough structural damage to warrant its demolition.
The septuagenarian husband and wife from Lisburn were left shocked by the incident, but unhurt when the black Ford Focus careered into the Laurelhill road detached house at around 3am.
After crashing through the garden wall, the vehicle slammed into the side of the couple’s home before bursting into flames.
The emergency services arrived to find no sign of the driver, and astonishingly, no sign of injury around the crumpled wreck.
The couple has been living in the house for 40 years, but a structural engineer called to the scene to inspect the damage has said at least some of the house may have to be demolished and rebuilt.
A 19 year old man has been arrested in connection with the incident has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Fire Service Lowers 'People At Risk' Age To 50 And Older
The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) has lowered the age group of those deemed most at risk from accidental house fires to people aged 50 and older. It follows the death of 19 people in the last three years, 17 of which were aged over 50. Nine of the victims were aged 50-59 and a further eight were 60 and above.

Former SDLP councillor's home paint bombed
The home of a former SDLP councillor has suffered damage in an attack in County Tyrone last night. Anne Bell, who is also a former member of the Strabane District Policing Partnership, had three paint bombs thrown at her house on Knockavoe Crescent on the Ballycolman Estate, at around 8pm.
