Persistent rain leads to flooding across NI
While the south of England enjoys some of its hottest temperatures of the year, parts of Northern Ireland have been issued with flood warnings after persistent rain left many places flooded overnight.
The Met Office has issued severe weather warnings for counties Antrim and Down after half an inch of rain fell in just 30 minutes in some areas. Flooding has been reported in Banbridge, Newry and Lurgan.
The sustained outbreaks have also meant problems for motorists with many roads being described as "very hazardous". Driving conditions are also said to be poor on the M1 and M2 motorways with motorists being asked to reduce their speed.
However, while persistent rain is expected for the remainder of the week, things are likely to improve over the weekend, the Met Office claimed.
