Newry Cash Delivery Targeted By Robbers

An ATM cash delivery has been targeted by robbers.

A security guard, thought to be from G4Securicor, based in Mallusk, has been hit on the head during the robbery in Newry, Co Down.

It happened just after 7.15am as the guard carried cash in a protected box from the van to the cash machine - which is located at a busy petrol station on the Belfast Road - and close to the local PSNI station.

A "substantial" amount of money was taken and the robber fled in a blue Volkswagen Bora, later found on the outskirts of Belfast in McKinstry Road, Dunmurry.

He was described as being 6ft tall and was wearing dark clothing, a black wig and a fake beard.
