Man Charged With Mother's Murder

A 50-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of his mother.

Jeffrey Ash allegedly grabbed 83-year-old Ellen Ash and smothered her at a house in Colston, Glasgow, between 21 and 22 March.

Mr Ash faces further charges of setting fire to the house.

Teenager Sentenced After Grabbing Bus Wheel

A teenager who grabbed the wheel of a bus travelling at 60mph is preparing to face sentencing.

Perth Sheriff Court was told how 19-year-old William Duff put the lives of 70 people in danger when he grabbed the wheel of the bus while it was on the A90 between Dundee and Perth on 29 December 2011.

He was found guilty of culpably and recklessly endangering the lives of the passengers.

He will be sentenced next month.

Two Stabbed At Spar Store

A man is said to be in a critical condition after he and another man were stabbed at a Spar convenience store in Birmingham.

The two men, aged 21 and 24, are being treated in hospital after the attack on Bristol Road at around 23:00 on Wednesday.

Forensic examinations are being carried out at the scene.

Driver Charged Over 10-Vehicle Collision

A lorry driver has been charged following a 10-vehicle accident on the M25 in Essex in which a man died.

The collision occurred at Aveley.

A 79-year-old man from Ilford died at the scene.

58-year-old Anton Maizen, from Darmstadt in Germany, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The dead man's son, 58, was his passenger. Both he and a 47-year-old woman who was driving another car are being treated at the Royal London Hospital.

Man Charged With Bakery Murder, Due In Court
A man charged with murdering a teenager in a south-east London bakery is due to appear in court today. Jimmy Mizen, who had just turned 16, was slashed across the throat with a shard of glass in the Three Cooks store on Burnt Ash Hill in Lee, on Saturday.

Suspected London bomber to be returned to UK
A British man wanted for questioning in connection with the failed London bomb attacks on July 21 is to be extradited to the UK within 35 days, an Italian court has ruled. Osman Hussein (27) will appeal the decision to the Italian Supreme court, according to his lawyers.

23 Charged With Drug Offences Following Raids
More than 20 people have been charged with drug offences following a number of raids carried out in London, Gravesend, Dover and Deal. A total of 23 people were arrested during twenty raids carried out over three days. The suspects, ranging in age from 17 to 52, have all been charged in connection with the supply of class A drugs.

Man Charged With Murder Of Homeless Man
A man has been charged with the murder of a homeless man who died after an attack at a bus stop in the West-Midlands last month. The 35-year-old from Smethwick was charged and remanded in custody on Sunday, to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Monday morning.

Mobile Customers To Share £1m Refund
Mobile provide EE is to refund around £1m to a number of customers wrongly charged VAT between October 2012 and October 2014. It is understood that EE customers who travelled outside the EU during those dates and used internet data were affected by the charges. The company estimated it as being about 0.5% of its customers.
