Man Rescued After Being Blown Out To Sea In Dinghy
A man had to be rescued after being swept out to sea in a dinghy.
It is understood that the 22-year-old man was "pushed out" in the dinghy near Britannia Pier in Great Yarmouth, by a group of his friends, before strong winds carried him further out to sea on Thursday afternoon.
Great Yarmouth and Gorleston lifeboats responded to emergency calls as the man, who did not have paddles, was blown into shipping lanes.
South London Train Services Operational Again After Major Fault
Train services in south London are running as normal again after an electrical fault caused widespread disruption on Thursday.
A fault between Wandsworth Common and Clapham Junction meant that no trains were able to leave or enter Victoria station, with thousands of rail passengers left stranded.
Network Rail reported that the fault had been fixed and that services began again this morning at 8am.
Swansea Firm Not To Reopen After Fire Putting 130 Jobs At Risk
A company who premises in Swansea were destroyed in a fire in December have decided to not reopen the facility, putting more than 130 jobs at risk.
The Pure Wafer factory in Llansamlet was destroyed in a major blaze and the company has been in negotiations with its insurers since.
However, the company has now announced that while the claim has been settled, it has decided not to reopen the factory.
All production had been moved to a sister site in the US.
It is understood that Swansea Council will hold talks with the firm over the closure and the impact on jobs.

Tube passengers trapped on train

EDF Energy has shut down one of its nuclear reactors due to a fault. The company confirmed that one of two reactors at Heysham Power Station in Morecambe was taken off line on Tuesday after a water leak was discovered.

Underground Fire Caused By Electrical Fault
A major underground fire in central London on 01 April was caused by an electrical fault, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) has ruled. The fire caused a major power outage in Holborn and lead to the evacuation of some 5,000 local residents. Fire fighters fought the blaze for more than 36 hours earlier this month.

Up to 50 residents of a care home in Dumfries might need to be re-housed after an internal circuit fault has left the facility without power. It is understood the Allanbank home has been completely without power since Sunday night.

Two nuclear power stations have been shut down, as a "precautionary measure" following the discovery of a fault, EDF Energy has reported. Heysham 1 and Hartlepool have been shut down following the discovery of a defect in one of the boilers at Heysham 1. It is understood that the defect was discovered during a routine inspection.
