Court hears of terror plots [HOLD]
At the trial of seven men accused of terrorist offences in the UK, the court has heard of a plot to hijack a plane.
Jurors at the trial heard a recording produced as evidence by Mi5 that indicated that there had been a plot to hijack and crash a British Airways jet. Among possible plots discussed in the recording are mentions "brothers" prepared to commit suicide by crashing a plane and attacks on power and water supply utilities.
Prosecutors allege that Omar Khyman was speaking to co-defendant Jawad Akbar.
The seven defendants were arrested after 600kg of ammonium nitrate fertiliser was discovered in a depot in West London.
Omar Khyam, 24, Jawad Akbar, 22, Shujah Mahmood, 19, and Waheed Mahmood, 34, of Crawley, west Sussex, Salahuddin Amin, 31, of Luton, Bedfordshire, Anthony Garcia, 23, of Ilford, east London, and Nabeel Hussain, 21, of Horley, Surrey, all face charges of conspiricy to cause explosions.
Mr Kyham, Mr Hussain and Mr Garcia have denied charges under the provisions of the Terrorism Act with the possesion of ammonium nitrate.

Man remanded over 'bomb plot'
A man has appeared in court on Friday charged in connection with an alleged plot to blow up transatlantic flights. Umair Hussain, 24, from east London, has been charged with failing to disclose information. He was remanded in custody at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court until September 1.

EDL Bomb Plotters Plead Guilty
Six men from the West Midlands have pleaded guilty to planning an attack on an English Defence League (EDK) rally using guns, knives and an explosive device made from a firework. Omar Khan, Zohaib Ahmed, Mohammed Hasseen, Mohammed Saud, Anzal Hussain, and Jewel Uddin, all in their 20s, will be sentenced on 6 and 7 June.

Four Appear In Court Accused Of Murder
A man and three teenagers have appeared in court accused of murdering a young boy in a public park. Amar Aslam, 17, was found in a West Yorkshire park on Sunday evening by two passers-by. Emergency services were called to Crow Nest Park, Dewsbury at around 7.00pm but Amar was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police continue to question 'bomb plot' suspects
Police have been granted extra time to continue questioning nine suspects in connection with an alleged plot to blow up transatlantic flights. Police were granted another week to question eight of the suspects and a further 24 hours to question the ninth suspect, who has been named as Umair Hussain, 24, from east London.
