The former Millennium Dome in Greenwich was evacuated last night after ammonia leaked from the ice rink plant to the outside of the arena through an air vent.
Staff were dismantling equipment at the time of the leak. It is understood that 29 members of staff were taken to hospital to be treated for the effects of ammonia inhalation, which includes runny noses, itchy eyes and discomfort. However, it is thought that none of the staff members were in a serious condition and they have all since been discharged from hospital.
An internal investigation has been launched.
