Two Arrests In Body-Parts Murder Case

Police investigating the murder of a man whose dismembered body parts were found across Leicestershire and Hertfordshire have arrested two men.

The two suspects, in their 20s and 30s, were arrested at an address in north London and were in custody in Hertfordshire, police have said.

"Extensive work has been carried out in relation to this murder investigation and I can confirm today that two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder,” Det Ch Insp Michael Hanlon said.

A spokesman said they believed they had now identified the murder victim.

Det Ch Insp Hanlon added: "We believe we have identified the victim of the murder and specialist officers are currently working closely with the family.

"We cannot release any more details of his identity at this stage."

A man's head, arm, leg and torso have all been found in different locations by members of the public across Hertfordshire and Leicestershire last month.

The victim was said to be aged between his mid-40s and early-60s and was of large build, weighing between 16 and 17 stone.

Detectives also said he had died of a stab wound to the back.
