Armed robbery at east Belfast newsagents
Police in east Belfast have appealed for information following an armed robbery at a newsagents yesterday evening.
The incident happened at around 7.30pm, when two men, one of whom was armed with what is believed to have been a handgun, entered the shop on the Upper Newtownards road and threatened staff.
The men then stole a quantity of cigarettes and an amount of cash, before making off on foot in the direction of nearby Finvoy Street.
The pair are described as being between 5'8 and 5'10 in height and were wearing scarves over their faces, light coloured tops, jeans and gloves.
Meanwhile, a woman was injured following a robbery at a pharmacy in County Armagh.
The incident happened just before 4pm, when two men entered the premises in the William Street area of Lurgan.
During the robbery, a female shop assistant was punched in the chest.
Police investigating the robberies have asked for anyone who may have witnessed either incident or anyone who may have any information in connection with them, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Guns and ammunition stolen in south Belast
A quantity of guns and ammunition have been stolen during an armed robbery at a property in south Belfast yesterday evening. The incident happened at around 9pm, when four men – two of whom were armed, one with an iron bar and the other with a hammer, broke into a house in the Balfour Avenue area of the city.

Police in Downpatrick are appealing for information after an armed robbery yesterday evening. Just before 8.30pm, two men, one armed with a knife, approached a fast food van on the Dundrum Road in Newcastle. The men threatened staff and demanded that they hand over a sum of cash.
