Man Arrested In Milly Dowler Case

A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the investigation into Milly Dowler's disappearance.

Surrey Police confirmed that they have arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with the "potential disposal" of a red car which has been linked to the disappearance of the 13-year-old, who vanished while walking home from school in Walton-on-Thames on March 21, 2002.

The man was arrested in Hounslow, west London at 6:30am on Friday.

Police had been seeking information about a red Daewoo Nexia, which was captured on CCTV footage in Walton-on-Thames, on the day Milly disappeared.

Her body was found in Yateley Heath Forest, near Fleet in Hampshire, in September 2002.

The development in the case follows the conviction of Levi Bellfield for the murders of Marsha McDonnell and Amelie Delagrange in London. Following his conviction, it was revealed that Bellfield was the prime suspect in the Milly Dowler case.

According to reports, Bellfield's girlfriend at the time lived near where Milly was abducted and she owed a car like the one captured on the CCTV footage.
